São Jorge is a peaceful village located in the north of the island with spectacular views over the mountains and sea, offering many walking paths..
Besides its nature São Jorge is perhaps the most fertile of all the northern villages, producing all types of agricultural products, specially its land supports sugar cane cultivation and also the Malvasia wine from which the famous Madeira wine is made.
Further along is the lookout point (Miradouro) where you can experience the beautiful dramatic coastline and views to Arco de São Jorge. If you want to swimm, there is a "Complexo Balnear da Ribeira de Sao Jorge" along a riverside, which offers good facilities, lifeguard surveillance, three seawater pools, a lagoon, a children’s play area, a snack bar and a restaurant. There is access to the sea but not advisable for swimming, due to the roughness of the waves, but great for experienced surfers or body boarders.

The external part of the house is composed for a swimmingpool, solarium área, esplanade, bar, barbecue place, balneary, laundry, billiard room. The house is located in a land with an area of 1.153 (s.q.) square metres. On the other side of the road we have a proteas plantation with an extension of 3.280 s.q.
